The Minotaur’s Daughter: Selected Poems
Synopsis
An evocative collection from Slovak poet Eva Luka, The Minotaur’s Daughter melds the human and natural worlds, weaving mythology, nature, desire, and personal freedom through vivid and unsettling imagery. The poems move from Japan to mythic landscapes, exploring sexuality, transformation, and the shifting boundaries between human and animal.
Luka’s poetic voice resists artistic conformity, creating hybrid creatures and fluid identities while confronting societal pressure and psychic harm. Moving between darkness and light, terror and beauty, these poems offer a powerful meditation on existence, freedom, and the search for artistic and personal truth.
