About the Author

Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas is a Haida artist, storyteller, and public speaker from Haida Gwaii. Internationally recognized for creating the genre of Haida Manga, his work combines Indigenous formline art with contemporary graphic storytelling to explore history, identity, environmental stewardship, and Indigenous sovereignty. His work has been exhibited in major museums around the world, including the British Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Smithsonian.
