Synopsis

When poet Joe Jacobs arrives with his family at a villa overlooking the French Riviera, he is startled to find a young woman floating in the swimming pool. Kitty Finch, a troubled self-described botanist with green-painted fingernails, claims she belongs there, and, to everyone's surprise, Joe's wife allows her to stay. As the uneasy holiday unfolds, Kitty's presence begins to expose the hidden tensions, desires, and unspoken truths that bind the family together.

About the Author

Deborah Levy is a British novelist, playwright, and essayist whose work has been shortlisted for the Booker Prize twice, for Swimming Home and Hot Milk.
