About the Author

C. D. Wright (1949–2016) was an American poet whose work transformed contemporary poetry through its formal innovation, political awareness, and deep attention to place and community. The recipient of a MacArthur Fellowship, the National Book Critics Circle Award, and numerous other honours, she remains one of the most important poets of her generation. This edition is edited and introduced by Forrest Gander.
