Synopsis

When Tim Sunblade walks out of prison with nothing but a foolproof plan for the perfect heist, he knows he needs one thing to pull it off: the right partner. He finds her in Virginia, a sharp, enigmatic woman whose hunger for money matches his own. Together they set their sights on one last score, but what begins as a calculated partnership quickly spirals into an obsessive love affair built on greed, mistrust, and the certainty that neither of them can escape who they are.

Originally published in 1953 and long revered by crime writers and collectors, Black Wings Has My Angel is one of the great American noir novels. Elliott Chaze strips the genre to its essentials, delivering lean, electrifying prose and an unforgettable portrait of two people hurtling toward inevitable ruin. Dark, seductive, and relentlessly tense, it remains a landmark of twentieth-century crime fiction.
