Airships - Pre-Order - Ships September
Synopsis
Originally published in 1978, Airships is Barry Hannah's landmark collection of short stories and one of the defining works of Southern American literature. Across twenty exuberant, darkly comic, and deeply original stories, Hannah brings to life Mississippi fishermen, war veterans, drifters, lovers, liars, and dreamers, creating a South that is at once mythic, violent, hilarious, and heartbreakingly human.
Written in prose that is fearless, inventive, and unlike anything that came before it, these stories explore love, memory, race, war, and the peculiarities of American life with extraordinary energy and wit. Winner of the PEN/Malamud Award and widely regarded as one of the greatest short story collections of the past fifty years, Airships remains a modern classic.
