A Magician’s Flower
Synopsis
Willow, her poet-friend Aspen, and Eulalia, their faithful chicken, discover a mysterious seedling growing in a neglected corner of their greenhouse. Unable to identify the sprout in their plant guide, they name it Raisin, after a tiny but clever creature from one of Aspen’s poems. But no matter how carefully Willow tends it, Raisin remains small.
Hoping the salt air will help it grow, the friends strap Raisin to their basket and cycle to the seashore. Their gentle adventure becomes a celebration of friendship, nature, and the possibility that something does not have to become bigger to flourish. Lushly illustrated by Marika Maijala, A Magician’s Flower invites young readers to find beauty in the small and unexpected.
