The Feast
Synopsis
Summer, 1947. At the Pendizack Manor Hotel on the Cornish coast, a cliff suddenly collapses, obliterating the hotel and killing seven people. The survivors have only narrowly escaped, and as they recount the events of the previous week, the secrets, rivalries, desires, and moral failings of the guests gradually come to light.
Among the hotel’s inhabitants are characters embodying the seven deadly sins: Gluttony, Lechery, Sloth, Pride, Covetousness, Envy, and Wrath. As the disaster draws closer, the question of who will survive becomes increasingly ominous. Part upstairs-downstairs comedy, part psychological thriller, and part modern morality play, The Feast is a sly, darkly funny portrait of postwar English society.
