About the Author

Solvej Balle is a Danish novelist and essayist whose work has earned widespread international acclaim for its originality, intellectual depth, and formal innovation. Since her debut in 1986, she has published fiction, essays, and works on aesthetics, but On the Calculation of Volume has established her as one of Europe's most significant contemporary writers.
