Synopsis

About the Author

John Fante (1909–1983) was an American novelist and screenwriter whose work drew heavily from his experiences growing up in an Italian American family. Best known for the Arturo Bandini novels, including Ask the Dust, Fante's fiction combines humour, compassion, and autobiographical insight, earning him a lasting place in twentieth-century American literature.
